9 Best Solar Power Banks 2018

Best Solar Power Banks 9 Best Solar Power Banks 2018

Nowadays we all want more independence, in terms of mobile communication and social media, the best solar power banks are now an almost indispensable accessory.

Compared to the aforementioned solar-powered battery charging devices, these even handier solar power banks are a great alternative for on the go.

Often consisting of a single module, the best solar power banks can be taken anywhere and provide us with free electricity that we can use for our USB devices.

Why are the best solar power banks so valuable?

Starting with the supply of free electricity but certainly also because you are with a solar power bank completely unbound, your iPhones and other gadgets can always be kept ready.

Not to mention that you can place such a small power bank at your workplace at the window and thus can charge your mobile phone in the evening for free.

Many people today use their Android or smartphones a great deal and the problem of empty batteries is, therefore, a regular occurrence.

This does not have to be anymore if you regularly expose your light rainproof power bank to the sun you always have 2-3 full battery charges.

In an absolute emergency, some of these solar power banks can also be fed on the grid, which of course is not the purpose of the exercise.

WARNING !!!

Not every Product that calls it’s self a solar power Bank is actually fit for solar charging any devices.

If you need an emergency and outdoor Power Bank please get one with more than one solar cell.    ==> NOT A COMPACT DEVICE <==

To name just a few of the advantages of such independent power banks.

Their benefits are many, not only that the environment is protected but also your Portmonai will be able to save a little more change.

Of course, my favorite advantage is that of independence. Never again look for sockets, never again plan my battery charges. Wherever there is light, there is electricity.

  • Free energy provided by the sun.
  • Never look for electrical connections.
  • Even at night or in bad weather, you can benefit from solar energy.
  • No big installation to load the device.
  • Charge during the day, use at night, always full batteries.
  • Easily transportable on excursions, camping holidays, bicycle or motorbike tours.
  • Great for working outdoors.

You see, the applications are very versatile. I am sure that you already own a power bank, but you have to recharge it depending on a grid network.

Imagine, no matter where you are in the café or working in the garden, in the office or comfortably while sunbathing in the outdoor pool, your solar power bank can always refuel your solar energy which you can later feed into your mobile device.

All you need is a short USB cable with which you can connect your smartphone.

There are also very good solar powered battery charging stations that operate without a power bank, but they require that you always have your station running when you have good sunlight and charge your gadgets.

With a solar power bank, you are even more independent. You can do everything you can do with a solar battery charging station just that you can also store solar energy here.

What you should look for when you acquire one of the best solar power banks.

In any case, you should be aware of what you are buying such an aid for. There are different applications and for each of these purposes, there are also suitable products.

The price is also a factor I know, but if you need a reliable, powerful device, the few extra dollars you can save will not be worth your disappointment.

Case 1.

Let’s start with the claim that you want to do more days, even weeks of camping vacations or tours in places where you do not have the opportunity to draw electricity from the wall.

These are claims that require a sufficient solar charging station. The capacity of the power bank is not even the main point, but it can also be important if you want to get away and catch bad weather.

Case 2.

Maybe you like going to several open air festivals with your family during the year and know that the USB devices are often used by several people during the day.

Then, a powerful power bank and an efficient solar charging station are what you need. Not that you can keep 5 devices always in operation, but good enough to use them more hours than the sun is shining.

Case 3.

You want a power bank that is suitable for in the wild, climbing, camping or hiking in various weather conditions without damage. But you do not claim that your power bank needs to be charged by the sun.

In this case, you can take back on a cheaper compact device which, however, once it is empty is no longer working.

Of course, you can charge the same power bank with an external solar powered battery charger. These power banks are very durable and have relatively good storage capacity but the solar unit is not enough to reach a real recharge.

You see, it all depends on what you want. I read a lot of comments from people who just bought the wrong product for the wrong purpose. Of course, these people are dissatisfied, but the product is often not the source of their anger.

Who should not buy a solar power bank:

This is mainly due to the weather that prevails where you want to use the power bank. In places where, for example, months of monsoon rains rain you can not do much in this time with a solar device.

There are also places where often and long fog prevails, for example, England lol, it can happen that you suddenly stand there with empty batteries.

Otherwise, only if you expect that you can use a cheap compact device to save your electricity costs, that does not work.

How many times can you charge your mobile phone with such a power bank?

That depends on the loading capacity. The more mAh or Wh a power bank has the more often you can load a device. You should also use good cables, not too long if possible.

A normal smartphone charge needs about 2000 – 3000mAh, that means at 5V about 10 – 15Wh. Some need more others less. An iPad Air needs about 3 times as much, so you can load one full load with 10’000mAh.

For adventure and outdoor activities, you should be more oriented to solar power anyway. At some point, every battery is empty and then you are happy if you have good solar cells with you.

Venture 30 Tech Specs Power Bank with Nomad 7 Plus Solar Cells

By Goal Zero

First, I want to introduce a combined device here. The solar cells and the power bank are separate. With this variant, you have the most options, so it costs a bit more than other models.

You get a two page, not very big, 7W Nomad 7 Plus Tech Specs solar cell that you can keep in your pocket because it’s not heavy.

With this cell, you can load the corresponding power bank. But you can also, if the power bank is already full, charge another power bank or charge your devices directly.

The solar cell delivers a power of 7W at the full light with 5V at the USB port is called the maximum 1.4A. With the 2.5mm super guide charge port, you have 8-9V and max 0.8A.

So you can go to work with the full power bank and let the solar cells charge your second power bank at home.

The accompanying Venture 30 Tech Specs Power Bank has a rated power of 7800mAh at 3.7V which is enough to charge a Smart Phone 2-3 times with the same speed as when you use the grid power.

The stored power is also sufficient for a tablet to fully refuel. 2 USB outputs with max 4.8A at 5V allows a super fast charge of your gadgets.

In an emergency, you can also charge this power bank from the grid if there is no time or if the weather does not play along.

You can load and drive anything connected to the USB port.

  • iPhones, Android phones, tablets, MP3 players or camping lights, as well as speakers, GPS or cameras and much more.
  • With a Guide 10 Plus Recharger from Goal Zero, you can also recharge AAA batteries that can be used for various other devices

The power bank is equipped with a blue LED display which shows the current battery level. In addition, white LEDs are installed to serve in an emergency as a flashlight.

The whole set is exceptionally stable and suitable to serve in any weather. Goal Zero specializes in outdoor adventure products that are much loved and used.

What are the benefits of a Venture 30 Solar Recharging Kit?

  • Separately usable solar cells and power bank.
  • Flexible use options.
  • Best outdoor quality.
  • Grid-loadable power bank.

Disadvantage:

  • Not exactly cheap.
  • A little awkward when used only as a solar power bank.

Universal Compatibility Cell Phone Battery Pack Emergency Solar Charger

By Compakit

Here we have a nicely designed 8000mAh Power Bank. I’m not totally convinced of this product but it seems to please many, including Amazon.

It is expressly pointed out that this solar power bank is not actually a solar power bank. The 1.2W solar charging unit is minimal and should only be used in an emergency.

Incidentally, this applies to most compact devices of this type. It is possible to charge the power bank via solar power, but it takes several days.

However, this device is suitable as a power bank and can serve as a nice gift. The unusual design makes this solar charger stick out of the crowd. Size: 5.5 * 3.3 * 0.6 inches.

There are not many technical data available, which does not suggest a technically sophisticated product. However, you can not expect much for the low price.

8000 mAh at 3.7V, however, is a stately performance and your phones should be able to load 2-3 times. The two USB ports let you charge 2 devices at the same time, even while you’re charging the power bank on the net.

With a shock absorbing rubber housing, the device is protected against fall and rain and with the built-in LED light you can find your way in the dark or plug in your gadgets safely.

The solar component is suitable to keep the power bank charge when not in use. Do not expect that out in nature, away from power sources, you can charge enough to play with your smartphones.

You can use this power bank for all your devices that have a USB port.

  • Tablets, Galaxy, iPhones, iPods, smartphones, cameras, music playback devices, GPS and more.

Advantages of the compakit solar power bank:

  • Attractively priced.
  • Original design.
  • Dual USB port.
  • Money Back Guarantee.

Disadvantage:

  • Not suitable as a solar charger.
  • No information on battery chemistry.

10,000mAh Qi Wireless Solar Power Bank

By Blavor

This interesting solar device stands out from the crowd because it is equipped with a Qi remote charging technology. Again you can not rely on the solar charge but as a wireless charging station, the Blavor device is something special.

Of course, there are not too many mobile phone devices that are equipped with a QI charging receiver but I think that is something that’s coming.

The following devices can be loaded with this qi technique:

  • iPhone X / 8 / 8plus, Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9plus S8 / S8plus and all Qi-enabled devices

In general, the power bank is not necessarily outstanding. However, it has a 10’000mAh charge capacity. It is also stated that a lithium metal battery is installed.

The power bank can be charged with a 5V 2A adapter within 6 hours from the wall, which is relatively fast. With the solar cell, on the other hand, you need almost a week for a whole filling.

As I register with this product no cables are supplied with. The set consists of a power bank and nothing else.

To mention is perhaps still the attached compass and the built-in two LED lights. You can also see on an LED whether the power bank is charged with solar power or how much the battery is already charged.

A blue LED indicates when you are charging from the grid and a power on/off button prevents the battery from draining itself. When not in use, the device is switched off automatically.

I think that this product is interesting if you have a wireless gadget. The price is really not expensive and as a power bank, the product is certainly suitable.

Pros of a Qi Solar Power Bank:

  • Wireless charging your iPhone etc.
  • Solar support of the Power Bank.
  • Outdoor fit.
  • 100% Money Back Guarantee.

Cons:

  • Weak solar power.

Portable External Backup Solar Power Bank Battery Pack

By Ayyie

This is the last Model of the so-called “Compact solar power banks” which I present here. This model is the most sold on Amazon, so I would like to examine it briefly.

Like all of these handy power banks, you can not really call them emergency products. The solar cells are more likely to be a show than that they can really be useful.

However, the power bank is not to be despised. For a very low price and with a 12 month warranty, you will get a 10’000 mAh Dual USB port charging station.

This model is a bit heavier than the others but should also include a light Li-ion battery. The usual 5V USB outputs are electronically monitored here and provide the optimal charging current to allow fast charging.

It is not clear why charging the power bank on the power grid should take up to 11 hours. It is said that the battery is also loadable with the solar cells but that for you need a lot of time.

You can charge all USB devices with this power Bank. The 2.1A 5V output is designed for larger devices such as ipads or tablets etc and the weaker, 1A output you can use to feed your phones or Bluetooth devices.

Also, this model is built for outdoor use. rainproof and extremely stable so that no damage occurs when you drop the device.

A small compass and an emergency LED light are also included. Even a carabiner hook is supplied with. This model is also delivered with a USB cable.

Advantage:

  • Small and compact.
  • Li-ion battery.
  • Compass, light, and cable included.
  • Very stable built.
  • 12 months warranty.

Disadvantage:

  • Solar part insufficient.
  • For some reason a bit heavy.

24’000mAh Solar Power Bank with 2 USB Ports

By feelle

Well, I like this device very much. This is a really cheap solar power bank charger. With the 3 solar cell sections, you can charge your 24’000mAh battery in 3-4 days.

3-4 days does not sound that fast but keep in mind that you’ll make it a very powerful power bank. Converted charging time for an iPhone refill that would be only about 4-5 hours in full sun.

Unfortunately, with this model, the solar cells cannot be removed but the overall size of the power bank is not very large. (6.1 * 3.3 * 1.18 inches, 1lb).

While you have the cells in the light you can charge a smartphone at the same time and when this battery is full, the power goes automatically into the power bank.

In the dark, you can charge 2 gadgets at the same time, both USB outputs provide 2.1A which leads to very fast loading times. The smart charging electronics switch off a full device immediately and thus prevent damage that could result from overcharging.

Here are some examples of charging options with a full power bank charge:

  • iPad air = 3x full loading.
  • Samsung S7 = 5.5x full loading.
  • iPhone 7 = 9x full loading.
  • iPhone 6s = 10x full loading.
  • Normal small smartphones can be charged even more often with a single power bank charge.

These are pretty amazing numbers I would say. Nevertheless, it is advisable to start on a multi-day trip with a full power bank.

In case of emergency:

You can adjust the LED lighting of this device in 3 different modes, 1. Flashlight, 2. SOS signal, 3. Stroboscope. This is a real emergency lights kit if you ask me.

If you get into an emergency and all your batteries are flat it is still possible to charge your phone with the help of the solar cells within a few minutes at least enough for reaching out for help.

This model is also stable and watertight. The practical fold design lets the power bank find its place in bags, diaper bags or rucksacks.

Guarantee:

A confident warranty policy also makes me believe in the longevity of this product. 100% guarantee, 30 days money back and 12 months warranty.

Advantages of a Feel 24000mAh solar power bank:

  • Suitable solar cells for camping or excursions.
  • Compact device when folded.
  • Good battery technique and very large loading capacity.
  • 2 x 2.1A USB outputs for simultaneous charging.
  • Very cheap in price.
  • 12 months warranty.

Disadvantage:

  • Not as light as compact power banks.
  • Only one attachment loop.

25’000mAh 92.5Wh Solar Power Bank with 2 USB Ports

By feelle

From the same manufacturer as the previous model, there is still a more powerful model. With 4 x 5W solar cells, the charging time of the 25’000mAh power bank is a bit even faster to reach.

For your nature experiences far away from civilization this is an optimal solution. The pre-installed power bank supplies a lot of battery charges for various USB devices and you can always recharge the bank on the go.

When directly charged by the solar cell, an iPhone 6 is fully charged in about 3-4 hours. This is almost as fast as with an adapter you put in the wall.

Of course, the power bank needs a bit longer to be fully charged. In full sun it takes about 25-30 hours. However, this process will hardly be necessary as you will probably never let the power bank go completely empty.

Before an adventure trip or camping holidays or a visit to a festival lasting several days, I recommend to fully load the power bank the night before.

The battery has 2 high-speed USB ports. These are smart ports, one with 1A and the other with 2.1A at 5V, so that the electronics can deliver the best charging performance for the plugged-in devices.

For example, you can refill an iPhone X8 about 10 times with the 25’000mAh Li-Polymer battery. An iPad mini over 3 times or a Galaxy S8 9 times.

IC protection of the USB outputs:

  • No overloading.
  • No discharge.
  • No overvoltage.
  • No overcurrent.
  • No short circuit.
  • The USB ports are provided with a silicone protection so that no water or dust can enter.

Like the smaller model, this one has a bright LED flashlight that you activate by long pressing the power button. By pressing the button again, the flashlight switches to an SOS morse signal and finally you can switch to stroboscope mode.

A small LED indicator in the cover of the USB ports shows you with green that you are charging on the solar panel or with blue if you load on the wall. Further LEDs indicate the power level of the power bank from 1-4.

The set includes the solar power bank, a USB charging cable, and a user manual. As with the smaller model, you have the right to return an unsatisfactory device within 30 days for a refund of the purchase price.

For the next 18 months, you get a 100% guarantee with the Feelle 25’000mAh solar power bank. All previous Amazon customer experience reports are so far only positive.

Pros of Feelle 4-part solar power bank:

  • 100% Outback fit.
  • Very cheap price.
  • Handy and easy to carry.
  • Emergency suitable.
  • 18 months warranty.

Cons:

  • Only one fastening hook which is certainly very strained by the weight with time.

2 x 10Ah Power Banks With 20 W Solar Panel Charger

By SunJack

This is again a combined variation of a solar power bank, a separate solar cell with 2 matching power banks. It’s a bit expensive but very flexible and of high quality.

In this set, you get a 20W solar charging station which is equipped with 2 USB 5V 2A outputs. These are equipped with a smart IC chip which allows a comparable charging speed to common grid charges.

Of course, the sun must shine and the angle of the cells to the sun should be right. Under optimal conditions, however, you can use this cell to quickly charge all your USB devices, including power banks.

Second, the set contains 2 10’000mAh power banks. These too are of high quality and allow 80% faster charging of your gadgets than traditional power banks.

Responsible for this high performance is, on the one hand, the built-in Qualcomm quick charge 3.0 output and the best available Li-polymer batteries.

The manufacturer says that you can charge a smartphone 10 times with a power bank at the same speed as when using a grid adapter.

Together these parts make an outstanding adventure or emergency scenario package. The solar unit is sure to be rainproof and weatherproof, but not the power banks.

Presumably, you can put together your own combination that performs the same function. With other manufacturers and certainly a bit cheaper.

But why I recommend this product is because all the components are of very high quality and the set was used by the US military under the most unfavorable circumstances.

The set comes in a handy size for transport and can just be fully deployed at the back of your backpack.

Advantages of the SunJack 20W 20’000mAh set:

  • Totally versatile.
  • Best components.
  • Power Banks can be taken separately.
  • Us Company.
  • 12 months warranty

Disadvantage:

  • Pretty heavy, 3.1lb.
  • Quite expensive.

Fuse 9 Watt Dual USB Solar Tablet Charger with Backup Battery Pack

By Voltaic Systems

And here again, an excellent product that offers you security and comfort in terms of USB charging. Surely not the cheapest solution but as you see, I’m not looking for cheap but for quality.

Voltaic System is a brand that specializes in developing, testing and launching such products. All over the world, Voltaic System products are used by outdoor enthusiasts, photographers, scientists and many more to keep their important equipment operational in the most unusual conditions.

The Fuse 9 Watt set is almost a backpack battery charger which is equipped with a power bank. The bag in which the solar cell is built, however, is only just big enough that even a 10 “tablet can be stowed in it.

Of course, the solar panel is made of high quality, waterproof, UV and scratch resistant tested material. A urethane coating of the cell has a self-healing effect that allows you to work with the product 5 times longer than conventional cells allow. (10 years and more)

With ribbons and made of a very durable material, the solar bag can be easily attached to the backpack, on bicycles or wherever you want.

The solar cell itself has an amazing power for its 9W. For example, in 1.8 hours of sun, you can fully charge an average smartphone or within 7.5 hours your 10 “tablet.

According to my calculations, the supplied 12’000mAh power bank should be fully charged in only about 7.5 hours from the sun as well.

You get in this set a separate 44Wh super Li-polymer battery. Built into the power bank are 2 USB outputs, 1x1A, 5V for smartphones etc and a hi-power port with 2A 5V for fast tablet charging.

Solar cell charger and power bank are suitable for the following USB devices:

  • Tablets of all types and brands up to 5V charging current.
  • Smartphones of any size and manufacturer.
  • Digital cameras from GoPro, Nikon, Sony, Canon, Apple, Samsung or Galaxy. Only up to 5V charging current.
  • USB light sources or music players etc.

With a weight of 2lb and a size of 12.5 * 10 * 1.5 inches you get with the Fuse 9 Set a very effective and handy all-weather, globally applicable adventure and working tool.

Advantages of a Fuse 9 Set:

  • Always full batteries.
  • Separately usable solar unit.
  • High quality 44Wh power bank.
  • Solar cell installed in a practical bag.
  • 2 years solar panel warranty, 1-year warranty on the power bank.

Disadvantage:

  • Quite expensive.
  • 1 kg, a little heavy.

Solar Bluetooth Speaker 5’000mAh Power Bank

By Friengood

Lastly, I would like to introduce here a small interesting combination device that you may like yourself but certainly represents a welcome gift.

Again, this is not really a solar power bank, but at least you can reload the consumed energy in the sun.

A small built-in solar cell about 1W delivers 230mA in good light. You realize that a full charge of the 5’000mAh battery lasts at least 20-30 hours.

It can be said that the battery can run the speaker for up to 50 hours, which means that the solar charge may be sufficient to allow this function permanently.

In no case, however, can you expect that you can use the power bank for the smartphone charging and capture enough solar power to keep the battery always full.

The fun part about this gadget, is that you have a power bank that you can use as a Bluetooth or other music amplifier at the same time. You can transfer the music either via Bluetooth or headphone connection. The Bluetooth 4.2 connection works up to 33 feet

There is also a TF card slot for stored music. The device has a hands-free call system with mic with which you can communicate with your friends.

The power bank is not exactly extremely big. However, a 5’000mAh Li-polymer battery provides enough power at the 5V 2.1A USB output to charge a smartphone about 2 times full if you do not activate the speaker. All USB 5V loadable gadgets can be powered by the power bank.

The speaker is equipped with a stereo 2 x 6W and a passive subwoofer system. This is a pretty loud amplifier device from our own experience.

An IP6X Waterproof and IPX6 dustproof certification allows the device to be used outdoors on the beach or in the forest without hesitation.

The conclusion to the Best Solar Power Banks

Well, after all these researches and calculations, I have to say that despite some first doubts there are some very useful products in this segment.

Not all is what it promises, best solar power banks, but some of the featured products can 100% meet my and hopefully your needs.

As mentioned above, it’s up to you to choose the right product. If you have high demands on the power bank as well as the solar power capacity, you probably have to buy a somewhat more expensive device.

These high claims are legitimate and understandable, often the only reason why someone is looking for solar power banks at all but as you have seen, not all, so-called, products can ultimately deliver just that.

My personal favorite, I think, is the Feelle 25’000mAh gadget, which promises a decent solar charge, an exceptionally strong battery and is priced in the lower segment.

I am no longer the adventure climber or hiker, also my wife is not necessarily an avid outdoor camper. Therefore, I believe a device like that Feelle can completely satisfy my needs.

I would not know what to do with the compact solar power banks. Although these are very sturdy and very suitable for outdoor activities, they, unfortunately, have little to do with solar power.

Anyways, I think there’s a possible match for everyone looking for a solar power bank.

Thank you very much for visiting

Thanks for all your information regarding the various kinds of Solar Power Banks available this year, I need look no further.

I wasn’t aware that a longer lead/cable can affect the charging speed. My Wife purchased a new mobile this week; the speed of charging is twice as quick as her previous model bought 2 years ago.

Advancements in technology are rapidly improving which will also benefit the convenience and speed a Solar Power Bank will charge plus they will pay for themselves over a short amount of time.

Thanks for the advice, we require a Solar Power Bank with more than one cell.

They’re easily transportable, deliver convenience when working outdoors, you’re not tied to finding electrical connections and it’s free energy – great news.

Thanks again for introducing me to these various models, Simon.

Thanks, Simon for sharing your thoughts 🙂

I wasn’t aware of the difference of cables my self until not long ago. Of course, as an electrician, I know the impact of cable length on power and other electrical details.

I guess, due to today’s saving politics, also copper inside USB cables, you can have a longer USB cable with a very low copper diameter and lose all the power for heat produced in the cable.

I see there are quality USB cables and cheap ones. I think if you use a quality cable it will be adjusted to its length.

It is amazing how far the battery and battery charging technology has come. Also, solar cell technology has been developed a lot in the last years.

Today you can actually get a set of solar panels and power bank and use it very efficient and for a long time. I think it can pay out and actually save you money.

Of course, some products are quite expensive and mainly thought for outdoor activity use. These best solar power banks I think won’t save money but they guarantee a satisfied user experience while far away from grid power.

I hope I could help. If you have a question don’t hesitate to ask 🙂

      See you, Stefan 🙂

This is great, I’m glad people are still trying to promote a known useful and revolutionary tech even though the market doesn’t favor it.

Keep going! I have an array set up at home for powering stuff in my garage.

One of the best decisions I ever made.

Hi Koby and thanks for commenting 🙂

I don’t know whether the market is still not favorable to solar power. If so it is surely because of bad lobbying.

I try to offer quality news about good solar products to people still open to green energy. We have to do a lot of promoting to change the common minds but I think it’s worth it.

You already have an array of solar cells and therefore surely know what I’m talking about.

I wish you all the best, see you, Stefan 🙂

Wow. Thanks for taking all the doubts out of the question of choosing which is the best solar power bank.

You surely know your stuff and what you have done it really narrows it down for me.

Not so much a techie here so your conclusion is what I’ll zoom in to really consider.

I’m keen to check out the Feelle 25KmAh!

Hi, ht, thanks for looking in 🙂

I want to know what I’m talking about. As a professional electrician, I surely have experience with similar technologies for almost 35 years.

I am still learning more every day due to a very fast changing development in this field.

I think with the Feelle 25Ah set, you have a perfect urban, vacation and weekend outdoor fun solution. Not too expensive but very effective and with good customer service.

I hope to see you back, all the best, Stefan 🙂

Hi there. Thanks for informing me all about the solar power banks!

Oddly enough, we were given one last year as part of a Christmas gift basket from work, and I didn’t know much about it and honestly, just stuck it in a drawer somewhere.

When I saw what your article was about, it triggered that memory in me and I found your article really helpful.

I plan to get it out and give it a try now!

Hopefully, it works well… if not, I may need to give one of your best solar power banks suggestions a try!

    Cheers!

Hi Marlaine, thanks for your comment 🙂

I know, often are solar power banks used as gifts. This does not always help increase its reputation though.

I hope your gift is a valuable one so you can benefit from the free solar energy source.

Powerbanks in general though do not really like being put in storage without maintenance for a long time. After a year it is quite possible that the battery is dead and maybe even not possible to recharge again.

Give it a try, but next time remember, even the smallest solar cell can at least maintain a fully loaded power bank just from using free sunlight.

Place it in a light room, it does not need to be direct sunlight but it needs to be light.

Have a great time, see you, Stefan 🙂

My Samsung 8+ used to last me two to three days before needing a charge. Now it can barely get to 24 hours. I’ve never heard of these solar packs. They look like a great product to check out

    • Stefan Vogt Post authorReply

Hi, William and thanks for writing.

Your Samsung Galaxy 8 has probably 3’300mAh Li-Polymer Battery inside. If you are interested in a solar charger I would recommend getting one that at least comes with an 8’000mAh Power Bank.

If you take the Feelle, 4 fold solar power bank you have about 7 full battery charges always handy. While not charging the Galaxy you can charge the power bank in the sun for free.

The Feelle charger and power bank is inexpensive but has quite a quite a good reputation and offers great power characteristics. And you get an 18 Months warranty.

I hope this helps, see you, Stefan 🙂
